Sarah Parkman

Name: Sarah Parkman

Background:

I was born and brought up in Solihull in the West Midlands. I left college with two ‘A’ levels and worked for a local estate agent until I moved to the mortgage sector. In 2000, I moved to Cornwall with my two sons, they both attended Veryan Primary School and The Roseland Academy. In 2001, I joined Devon and Cornwall Police and worked in the Criminal Investigation Department and later the Child Abuse Investigation Unit. I retired in September 2019 and am now a self-employed hypnotherapist in Camelford.

Wider Experience/Qualifications:

I attended Warwick University in 1997 and obtained a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Biology. In 2018, I completed my diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. This has provided me with a greater understanding of the impacts of stress and anxiety in children and adults.

During my career in the police I obtained my Professional Investigation Programme Level II which included interviewing and safeguarding training.

Why a Trustee:

As a parent myself I recognise what impact teachers and peers can have on our children. I am passionate about children being given the right opportunities to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams. I am honoured to be a Trustee and I look forward to working with the team to ensure that our schools provide the best education to all students.
